Noughts and Crosses

A story about racism, Noughts and Crosses is about two children who grow up together and eventually fall in love. As they get older, the racist culture around them beings to create challenges within their own relationship. The reversal of minority from African American to Caucasian provides an interesting perspective for the readers.

Because of the nature of this book, I used black and white and one color to provide interest. The two figures on the front elude to a relationship of some kind, but also the struggle within that relationship. The backdrop is carried completely through to the back cover to connect the two. This piece catches the readers eye from both the cover and the spine.
